Over the past three years of study, I have gained extensive knowledge in the field of sound art and developed a clear vision for my future artistic direction. I am truly grateful for all the guidance and support from my tutors during this time.
I currently work under two names as an artist. The first is Qianhui Sun, which I use for participating in interactive, installation-based, and conceptual art projects and exhibitions. The second is Sanki, a performance persona under which I present my live sonic works.

My current focus is on expanding the performative possibilities of music by integrating digital media and computational processes. I explore how the textures of sound can convey emotion, cultural history, and spatial experience through performance and installation. My aspiration is to develop a sustainable artistic practice that fuses traditional Chinese sonic elements with modern electronic experimentation. I am particularly passionate about creating immersive installations and performances that invite audience interaction with randomness, cultural memory, and real-time transformation.

The BA Sound Arts course has played a vital role in shaping this vision. Visiting previous graduates’ degree shows and participating in the Gallery 46 exhibition during my second year gave me valuable insights into curation, installation design, and the experience of exhibiting. The Performance Sound module, in particular, encouraged me to think deeply about how improvisation and live processing can be integrated into my creative practice.

When it comes to planning for the future, I don’t necessarily have grand ambitions, but I genuinely appreciate the artistic atmosphere and lifestyle both here and across Europe. The openness, diversity, and encouragement of experimentation within the art communities have given me a sense of belonging and freedom as a young artist. That’s why I hope to continue expanding my experience by participating in more events, exhibitions, and collaborative projects—not only to grow as an artist, but also to stay engaged in creative dialogue with others.
Working alongside artists from different disciplines—such as visual art, digital media, performance, and architecture—has greatly expanded my understanding of sound. It has challenged me to think beyond sonic composition and consider how sound interacts with space, movement, and human presence. These exchanges have taught me that sound is not only something we hear, but something we feel, embody, and remember.
Looking ahead, I am especially interested in integrating technology into my practice, whether through real-time data interaction, generative systems, or immersive spatial audio. My goal is to develop a sound art practice that is both conceptually rich and technically exploratory—something that reflects my cultural background while also pushing boundaries of form and experience:)
